I don't think happiness is something you can 'force'.
It comes with other abstracts such as fulfilment and satisfaction, acceptance and enjoyment.
I am always getting told how very negative I am. I am fine in myself with so called negativism, but hate people to tell me. In fact overwhelmingly positive people, I nearly always find they have some problem or other they are trying to deny.
Personal acceptance is one of the keys to being happy. Knowing when to ignore what others say and think. Let others enjoy what they like and enjoy what you like. Learn that being alone is not the same thing as being lonely. Be proud of what you can achieve. And if you enjoy something that is what matters, not whether you are good at it.
You cannot force friendship either. A lot of friendships start from common interests, but many exist with very little in common. What matters is you try to be nice to people and be honest with them but not unkind. That is a very fine line in the end. Even if you are not a good conversationist you can still be a good listener. And listening is very important in friendship.
As someone once said, we have two ears but only one mouth for a reason.
