Understanding Autism for MPs

The NAS has organised some Autism Sessions for MPs in Parliament on May 1st.

I very welcome this initiative, it is one of the things that I think is very important.  But it will only be a success if MPs attend.

Here is a link to invite your MP:

I hope as many as possible will sign this, and also spread the word on Facepack and Twister so it gets as much publicity to invite as many MPs as possible.  And if you get a response from your MP, perhaps you can post it.  Your MP is one of the people that can make a difference but he or she needs persuading to attend and the more invites they get the more they will see what our feelings are.

There is an opportunity to edit the letter as much as you like, or leave it as it is, so if you have anything you particularly want your MP to be aware of as regards autism in respect of the training, this is your chance!

  • That's just plain rude of them. My letter came just as I was starting to think he's an ignorant so and so. Try again and maybe mention that his lack of reply doesn't look good and shows a lack of support to his constituents of which a few thousand must also have AS being that 1% of the population does, but maybe don't say as blunt as I have put it.
