Recruiting volunteer moderators

Would you like to volunteer for the NAS and have a significant role in the NAS Online Community?

The NAS Online Community is looking to recruit volunteer moderators, from across the UK, to be part of the exciting NAS online community. This community has been operating for two and a half years, and enables people affected by autism to reach out and support each other.

Moderators play a vital role in creating and maintaining a safe space where people feel welcome and supported. The moderator's role is to make sure forum users respect the rules of the forum and each other. They do this sensitively and only intervene when they have to. Often no intervention is required during a moderation session.

Moderators can work from their own home, using their own computer.  Each moderator will have a weekly slot when they read all the posts for that day (this will usually be in an evening or first thing in the morning). Ideally we would like moderators to commit for 12 months and volunteer for 1–3 hours a week on a regular day or days.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer moderator or would like some more information about this volunteering opportunity please email community.manager@nas.org.uk or call 020 7923 5717. We will be accepting applications until at least 14 September.
