Disability Discrimination Act regarding autism

How does autism fit in with the Disability Discrimination Act please? My two sons are autistic and they are excluded from activites at our regimental welfare service because of their autism. I'm just wondering if they were wheelchair bound, would they be excluded in the same way? People always say that access must be made for wheelchair users so would or does autism benefit from the same protection of their rights? I don't know where to go in regards with finding out about my sons rights and the regimental welfare services obligation into including all people of all disabilities into their activities.

Thank you for any and all help.

  • A travel company have said that I cannot go on their holidays unless I bring someone with me.

Is that not discrimination as it might mean me having to pay for someone to go with me.?  Should not travel companies ask their guides to help me on holiday by for example making sure that I do not get lost on excursions.

A travel company wont insure people with Autism as the Insurance company paid for me to go home early as I made a fuss about missing lunch when I came back from walking round Lake Molveno.  Is that not discrimination as not all Autistic people would do that.

I wish the NAS would do a campaign about Autistic adults travelling abroad on their own.

The law should state that travel Reps should help people with Autism and related difficulties.

My difficulty is not recognising people and places so I get lost easialy.
