Just my cynical jokey take on modern tourism and the impact on our wild spaces...

  • Another photomontage.  The central block is where I lived from ages 9 to 14 - up to 1974.  It's in Battersea, South London.  Our flat was on the first floor - the five windows on the far right.

  • What a striking and beautiful image. I love the train journey into London, looking at all the houses and flats and wondering who lives in them.

  • I've always been fascinated by cityscapes - more so than with cities themselves.  Like you, the thought of all those lives lived on top of one another.  Blocks of flats hold a peculiar fascination for me.

I used to go up to the top floor landing in the evenings and stand there for ages just staring out at it all. St Paul's and the Houses of Parliament were visible in the distance, like parts of some strange mountain range.
