Any knitters about?

I have decided to get back into knitting .

Be great if there are others who knit as l am  v rusty.

Parents
  • I bead, like sewing lots of tiny seed beads into patterns to make jewellery. I don’t knit but would also like to learn

  • Wouldn't it be good kits someone else on here was a really good knitter.I l knitted my daughter plain cardigans when she was little and I'm just about to attempt a dolman sweater pattern from the 80s for myself.

Something to aim for...Thinking Have a go and see if l *** it up.

It's in Rio Grande wool bit don't think they sell that any more so will find a equivalent.

  • If no one else pipes up then you may become the NAS forum knitting tutor Slight smile

Good luck with the sweater that you’re knitting for yourself. I’ve wished I could knit, usually when each of my children were babies and I kept seeing cute baby knits in knitting magazines. I did try to learn a few years ago, it didn’t go too well though Slight frown

Did you used to knit a lot?

  • Interesting. My mother-in-law loves sheep/wool. She can spin wool too as they used to own sheep when my husband was a child. I think she’d love to get back into wool spinning if it were practical.

Oh beading/jewellery making was an obsession for me massively several years back. Now it’s just a hobby and something I enjoy doing when I have time. It’s probably a good thing I still enjoy it as I’ll need to bead for the rest of my life to use up all the beads that I bought when I was full on obsessed with it!

Do you have family that are autistic then?

I don’t think I’ve seen any of the pictures you describe but one thing I did get intrigued by when I used to do the craft fairs was felting.

  • Just through loving wool  to be honest. The smell of pure woolSparkling heart

You see l am not autistic and l have an obsession!

    Joy

Have you seen some of the people that make on canvas or hessian freestyle pictures with fabric and wool and embroidery and tapestry.. that's gorgeous.

    I'm off to bed
