What book are you reading now?

I decided that I needed a new book to read and managed to find one on my bookshelf that I’d only half read so thought I’d finish it off: Tower, An epic History of the Tower of London by Nigel Jones. I just wondered what everyone else is reading at the moment? What does everyone else like to read?

  • I'm very eclectic in my reading. I try to alternate between something new, something well-worn and comfortable and something classic. I have a leaning towards crime fiction in the middle category, and  crime fiction is what I aspire to write.

Right now I'm in the Classic phase and I'm re-reading Bleak House (Charles Dickens). This is my third time through and it's so complex that you need at least two readings to get your head round everything that's going on. There's nothing ASD-related in there I think but there is an absolute nailed-on study of low self-esteem.

  • Hi, Thank you for describing your book preferences. I've never read Bleak House, would you be able to explain a little bit more what it's about please?
