We are past midnight, so it's Christmas Eve. And I haven't received a single Christmas card.
On the other hand, I'm not surprised since I haven't sent any and I live like a recluse. Reading books, watching DVDs, TV.

Happy Christmas, dear Robert123. Thank you for so much of your kindness and care over the past year. You’ve been a true elefriend and you are very much valued my here in this community.
dont forget:
Here's one of my favourites of hers...
I enjoy listening to the music. I've heard the name Stevie Nicks several times on the radio, but never made the connection to who it was.
My cousin on the other hand knows all about the rock and pop connections, such as who plays for who, who died from what drug overdose in what year, who replaced who etc etc. He's got encyclopedia knowledge of the people, the albums.....
Stevie Nicks is gorgeous!
Hi Robert,
I know it's not quite the same, but

I didn't send any last year, and only got one - from my niece. I had some from previous years that I put on shelves to make it seem more Christmassy. This year, I sent about 15 - mainly to family members I don't see - and have got 9 back. Sometimes, I can't help wondering if people send just for the sake of appearances. I always write little messages, but generally just get the standard 'To... From' - like there's not much thought behind them.
I'm a recluse, too. I spend nearly all my spare time at home, only really going out to shop. My computer is always on.
I'm trying to look at next year as a fresh start. I say that every year, but I'm 60 in May - a big one. I have a new job to go to, which will bring the inevitable stresses. But at least I can put my old job behind me.
I hope the New Year can bring good things for you. Take good care.
very embarrassed to confess that I only discovered today, that Stevie Nicks is a woman.
I recently discovered Tracy Chapman is a woman, lol.
I actually did receive one card. From my local MP!
I'm not too lonely, I just spent an enjoyable hour watching BBC four and the history of Fleetwood Mac. And I'm very embarrassed to confess that I only discovered today, that Stevie Nicks is a woman.
I have three Christmas cards ready to give my nearest family. ( Sister, nephew and niece. & Their families). I was invited to spend Christmas day at my sister's. I've just checked the text message invitation date ( 7 Nov). If the invitation is still on I will give them the cards and might get some back.
Hi Robert if your friends in this community had been able to send you Christmas cards your room would be full of them. I hate the fact that Christmas makes people feel more isolated than usual. Everyone I have heard about seems to be dreading Christmas Day - even (perhaps especially) those people spending it with relatives.
You are a good friend to many people in this forum. I always enjoy reading your posts. It makes me sad when you share painful experiences from childhood and tough times you have experienced at work. You deserve so much more than this from life.
Here is a virtual Christmas card for you - my dog Izzy in front of the Christmas tree. I have not written or sent any actual Christmas cards this year. If it had been left to me the tree would still be up in the loft.

I don't feel at all Christmassy this year and neighbours don't seem to have as many lights or decorations as usual. The thing that lifts my spirits the most is seeing bulbs pushing up in the garden and buds swelling on branches of bushes and trees. It will be spring again before we know it!
