Autism friendly restaurants in Devon

Csn anybody recommend an autism friendly (especially QUIET) restaurant in Exeter or the East Devon/Teignbridge/Torbay areas?  I’ve just had an atrocious experience eating out with a group of friends for an Xmas party, and the place was so noisy I could barely hear myself think let alone talk or hear what other people were saying!  I completely zoned out due to severe sensory overload.

  • I don't live in the area, but it seems that it would be difficult to find such a place, especially during Christmas where there will be more people eating out. Every group of people who do go out will be talking. Your group of friends also talked as well. So everyone's chitchat just accumulates. Looking for a quiet place would almost mean trying to find a place where not many people go to, so an unpopular restaurant, or going there at a quieter time (e.g., very early before most people arrive).
