Autism friendly restaurants in Devon

Csn anybody recommend an autism friendly (especially QUIET) restaurant in Exeter or the East Devon/Teignbridge/Torbay areas?  I’ve just had an atrocious experience eating out with a group of friends for an Xmas party, and the place was so noisy I could barely hear myself think let alone talk or hear what other people were saying!  I completely zoned out due to severe sensory overload.

  • I don't live in the area, and I don't even live in the UK. I live in the US, Orlando, FL. But I completely understand your needs. My good friend is autistic, and every time she and I want to go out, we look for a very quiet family restaurant. We also choose the time in the first part of the day because there are much fewer children in the building. Usually, we go to Tapa Toro https://tapatoro.restaurant/restaurants-near-convention-center/ because she prefers Spanish food. She also likes when someone cooks right in front of her, and that's why we choose this restaurant. They are usually much fewer people than in other places. There is also a lot of space inside so we can choose a table that is far away from the others and make sure that no one will bother us. I wish you the best of luck finding an appropriate restaurant for you and your friends.
