Yesterday's storm has come and gone.  I stayed at home heeding all the warnings of heavy snow and freezing rain.

And...   Not a single flake of snow.  I didn't see any at all.

Were these official amber warnings a lot of @###

In previous December's we had better worse weather.

Here's one from December 2009. ( Christmas Eve)

    We had some freezing rain and gritty icy sleet last night. Gale force winds in the early hours too. Black ice made walking treacherous today even though the sun was out. We had deep snow last winter and had to dig a trench so the little dog could pee!

    I drove up to Norfolk yesterday to see my mum's sister. I was mindful of the amber warnings, but just encountered a lot of heavy rain and bitter winds.  Driving back to Kent, it was actually pretty clear all the way.  And today, the sun is shining.  Still bitter, mind.  It looks like Southern Scotland took the brunt of it, with multiple crashes reported on the roads.

    That's a nice shot.  Perfect for a Christmas Eve.
