Does anyone else like heavy jewellery clothes etc i have a big
heavy stainless steel chain with a padlock i wear round my neck
24/7 i also wear baselayer tight fitting top and bottoms i like
the weight and tight fit on my body can't explain why it
just makes me feel secure ive had some funny looks and
comments re the chain but i don't care i just wondered if
anyone else was the same or what different do you find comfort
in ?
Reading that, you'll probably also like those vests you can tighten to calm down and secure? I know some people like to lie in confined spaces.
I actually am the opposite. I cannot stand heavy materials or clothes, but I always need some sort of pressure from a blanket to be able to sleep.

It seems to be a known thing with people in the spectrum. I came across the clothes and heavy things last year when I looked up why swaddling was so comforting to babies (other than ours because ahe was like Houdini...).
There are also special heavy things made for people on the spectrum.
what right have they to confiscate stuff i mean ok scissors i can see that but what harm you going to do with a compass ? feng shui all the furniture lol

I tend to carry too much as well. Always have done. I've had things confiscated from my bag at the National Trust AGM two years on the trot now. Last year they confiscated my two sets of scissors till afterwards and this year they confiscated my pair of compasses :-).
That necklace is gorgeous! I have always loved really heavy necklaces. I used to have one with large glass beads but it broke on a coach trip. I also had a really heavy stainless steel watch (that got stolen from my suitcase).
I have just bought myself a Breil necklace called 'chaos' with stainless steel balls that move up and down on chains. It is really satisfying to play with, as well as being heavy. I have actually bought 3 in case this one breaks or gets lost!
I also like carrying around much more stuff than I need - currently in an old carpet bag, which is lovely to hold on to and stroke. It is definitely a kind of comforter.
