IT and photography

My main special interest has always been computers, but when younger was really into model railways (and the real thing) and was obsessed with getting things as real as possible.  I was also really into electronics, useful for above, and wired up all kinds of things - I built my own computer when about 23, I'm a fully qualified geek!

I've gradually lost interest in hobbies but recently turned to digital photography and recently bought a better camera, though short of the SLR I would love.  I've thought about getting my best photos printed out large and framing them, to sell, but lack the confidence at the moment.  I would love to travel around every day and take loads of pictures, but I'll have to make do with now and then, for now anyway.

I now realise I need to do something creative to feel good, and trying to explore that side of me.  I want to do some artwork as well, and maybe sell that too.

  • I went to a digital photography exhibition in a local libary a few years ago, and I was very impressed with some of the work I saw. I particulary like work's were they cropped and the images reversed around an origin of symetry to create a new image.

I feel that I could do with something creative to do but don't know where to start. I'd like to learn to paint. I love surrealist, occult & eastern mysticism imagery and would love to create some.
