Is there a way to view forum posts in a linear way instead of in threads?

I am wondering if there is a way to adjust the view of posts so that they are in a purely chronological order (within the post page itself, not in the forum listing, because I know the latter is already in chronological order). I notice in one post someone added a message just a few minutes ago, according to the forum listing, but I cannot find the new message among all the old ones. The messages within a post are listed in "threads", but I'd prefer just to see the new messages at the bottom. Is there a way to adjust my settings so that would be the case? Thanks.

  • I can't find anything in the settings which does this (access your settings by clicking your profile icon in the top-right of the page). Having the Thread view is good because it helps us to put posts in a thread into context - we can see which post is replying to which particular post - but I also agree that I would like the ability to see the posts linearly and is the first setting I searched for when I first joined. Sometimes I just want to see new posts in a thread and this is difficult, you have to scroll around until you find the new one halfway up the page.

It would be great to have a moderator's input as I would also like the same.
