TV shows

I know that there is often a misunderstanding that Aspies don't have a sense of humour....

Anyone like the 'Mighty Boosh', 'Flight of the Concords' or dare  I say it 'The Inbetweeners' TV shows?

What makes you laugh?

  • I have never watched Big Bang Theory. Must give it a go.

the first time I watched 'mighty Boosh' I was lost. It knid of grew on me as I got to know the reoccuring themes. It doesn't seem to expect you to understand it in any particular way. Not so sure about the songs though........musical comedy??....mmmmm..... I don't think I am ever going to like that aspect.....Smile

Could never get into Monty Python. Undecided

  • I hate commedies!  My dad loves them though. He once asked me if I wanted to watch a DVD wich he has the whole set of every serise of. This usally means he really loves it. So I said "Is this another one of these funny programs I do not find funny" (this was before we knew I had autism. He just laughed at me and said I will like it.

He sat there the whole way through saying 'oh the next bit really is good' and I did not have a clue what was going on. The program was Father Ted. I can only remeber the music because dad watched it every night when we went skiing. I will always think of that hoiliday when I hear it.

I also really dislike stand up comedy, because they go too fast and I cannot keep up with what they are saying so I get all confused and mixed up. I rarely watch TV anyway.

  • BBT is pretty good.

I prefer slightly more off the wall, and edgy, stuff myself, though, like Monty Python, and anything Charlie Brooker.

  • I'm not a big fan of those shows, but my sides end up splitting at things like Big Bang Theory and Community. Big Bang Theory especially when Sheldon speaks Klingon Laughing
