Big bang theory

I've been watching the first six seasons on DVD.  And it's very enjoyable and funny.

Does anyone here identify with the autistic traits displayed by the star, Sheldon Cooper?

And has this series created a good or bad impression of autism with the general public?

  • There are some real gems in it.  If you watch the DVD version.  The TV version censors some of the juicy bits.

Like the roommate agreement, which has entered the TV comedy psych.

Eg,. Sheldon walks into his roommate's bedroom while that guy is in bed with a girl.   And accuses him of breaking one of the clauses of the roommate agreement.  Which states that he has to give him 12 hours notice of bringing a girl into the flat for the purpose of c*;#&@.

  • More about.

The Roommate Agreement was written by Sheldon and was signed by Leonard when they first became roommates. These events were shown during a flashback. Sheldon starts mentioning paragraphs from a Friendship Agreement in the episode "The Cooper-Nowitzki Theorem". Later episodes describe it as a Roommate Agreement, and Sheldon continues to cite from it throughout the series, usually when one of the clauses is being violated.

Sheldon revamped the agreement to better favor himself in The Agreement Dissection. The new version was only agreed upon by blackmail as Sheldon had set up a false, but realistic-looking one minute timer which would then send an email to Priya's parents regarding their relationship which they didn't know about.

The Roommate Agreement was in effect for the majority of the show. However since Sheldon has moved in with Amy into Penny's old apartment, it can be assumed that the agreement is no longer in effect.
