So starting a new thread to highlight the stream of spam arriving in here, It is  eminates  from the “Introduce yourself “ section. Automatically  generated advertising to promote a site, I don’t think it wise to click on any of the many links provided, 

Reporting them as abusive doesn’t seem to make any immediate difference, Any Mods must be asleep, I think when any one hits the report button or report as abusive button it should send an email to who ever is allocated to be on duty, I assume that asbother forums I belong to have such a scheme set up. Maybe if we all stomp our feet together it would wake them up?

This is a worry. I rely on this forum to keep me levelled out, yes I could go off and do something else but it is a generally nice place to be, being with like minded special people is like attending a family get together,

please feel free to post anything so long as it is not offensive or unkind in nature, 

not likely here.

  • The website and the forum have helped me a lot. I discovered that a lot of people have the same struggles I experience. Suddenly, I realized that I am not alone.

    This was a huge relief. I tried all the time to fit in, be a ''normal'' person and behave the way other people want me to behave. That took huge energy and resources from me.

    Now I do not anymore try to fight myself. I am now a happier person.

    Here I have also found that some support is available for autistic people as disabled people, advice and experience other people have had.

    I would be happy to be a forum moderator.

    California you are like most of us, I came here six months ago looking for answers, it has been a bumpy road, ups and downs a plenty..

    The over riding thing I found was support from all on here, 

    Someone was always willing to lend me support, a kind word, a link to information to guide me, true friendships that will last a lifetime( you know who you are) .

    A real shame this forum is treated as a poor relation. It doesn’t get much mention from NAS, we get no information about what they are doing for autism, we are part of the website, never spoken of, seldom interacted with. .

    The only time I got any contact was at the beginning of my membership, I recieved  an email stating I was reported as being abusive! It was over ruled and no action necessary, nice considering I hadn’t actually done anything wrong! Ouch.

    the second time was because I mentioned a name of a person, they deleted it in my thread and refused to reinstate it on the grounds that private names must not be posted, well there were six other names mentioned on other posts, some private bloggers, some who stood to gain from being mentioned,, the name I used was an individual working on behalf of autism to promote awareness,

    I even had consent to use her name, in fact I used her name several times and never heard any objections, the name is still on my early lists, I emailed the information but was told NO it was wrong, so Tony Attwood is fine but the name I wrote who is promoting awareness is deleted, she is a freelance journalist, is autistic, has an autistic son, is a volunteer for the scope web forum, doing what she can to help people with autism, violet fenn. She has given me permission to use her name, let’s see if it gets deleted? She was very upset that her name was refused, her name is everywhere in the media,that was the whole point to raise awareness, 

    rant over, this is what happens when my anxiety levels rise, 

    please sort this out NAS, 

    chaos, confusion instability and totally amature, sorry but this site is getting rediculouse.
