Months of trying to get paperr based assesment as child has autisum crippling aniety .three attemps suicide cahms and hospital working with child and capita say no got to be face to face .no compation capita didnt care horrible manerhope they do listern to recorded call because he said it was going to be paper based then changed his mind all in one sentence.

  • I've been through the PIP assessment process twice (initial application and renewal) so understand what a stressful time this is. It might help to know about my experiences. On both occasions, the assessor was really lovely. I was in and out within twenty minutes but was awarded enhanced rate both times. They focused on questions to check what I'd put on the form was truthful, it was so that was fine. The first time the assessor even let me know she'd be recommending me for PIP before I left her office. I hand in as much independent evidence of possible including highlighted GP notes, a letter from my employer etc. I think this help as it isn't just based on what I say. If you want to add any extra evidence you can hand this in at the appointment

    If your child is going to find the experience incredibly stressful is there anything that would help them beforehand. Such as visiting the location of the assessment centre?
