Meltdowns all day

Have you any idea what caused the meltdowns? We try to avoid taking our daughter to supermarkets or anywhere that is too noisy/bright/crowded because it will cause sensory overload and she will end up getting moody which in turn can lead to a meltdown. I know from my own perspective that if I'm having an exceptionally bad day then one meltdown leads to another and another and the slightest thing can set me off. So on a 'good' day sensory things are not too bad but on a bad day something as simple as the phone ringing can feel like someone is trying to claw my ears off whilst hitting my head and it just makes me feel so awful, so then when you have multiple things setting off your sensory problems it all becomes too much.

Anyway I hope thigns haven't been too bad these past few days.

Then I'd make a cuppa for hubby too.

hi st yes its hard to shut it out when people are staing and looking as they think your child is being naughty and acting like a spoilt brat when we know different but i will eventually i,m all new to this and i know what you mean when you say about the biting,hitting,and screaming i,m just so exhausted with it and my hubby but we carry on as we all do xxx

i have my own little grown up meltdowns i think you call it being a drama queen. lol

Hi there.  I know just how you feel!  My 4 year old son spends most of his time having melt downs.  He does talk, but I know just how exhusting it is having to deal with tantrums all day, along with the biting, hitting, screaming etc.  I just hopeyou dont worry too much what other people think when your out - took me a long time to shut out what others think!  Your right though - tomorrow is another day!

and what can one say?  If I were next door I'd pop round and make you a cuppa or spend a little time with your beloved tiny terror.  All I can do is express sympathy, tell you that you are far from alone (which was no comfort to me when my little girl was alive) and hope, hope, hope that somebody can offer you the support you need.
