Very poorly friend

I have a friend who i met at church. She is 61 but has learning difficulties and doesn't understand things so great. But she has looked after me from day one. Walking me home when i am ill and taking my hand when i am down. She has no family, just a few church friends. I found out today at our bereavement lunch that she has *** cancer. I feel sick about it. What do i do or say?

  • Hi,

it is obviously a very difficult time for you and your friend at the moment.

It is not easy to know how to help your friend.  It might be a good idea to ask her how you can help her.  She may need someone to talk to or to do jobs for her like doing her shoppingwhen she is not feeling very well.  It might be a good idea to speak to other people at church to see how you could all help her together.  Shemould need someonehelpful with her to hospital appointments.

I hope this helps and I am sure your friend will be really pleased, that you are thinking about her
