First appointment

I'm not sure if I should post it in this section. I had my first appointment and feel very much validated and understood. Next appointment is on next Thursday. The diagnostician told me, she is sure that im autistic,  but for full report she needs to gather more information from me. She asked me about my past, about my day, she had to stop me from talking about aliens and space. I also showed her my comics and she liked it. She said its fascinating, but we gonna miss the diagnostic process. She also said, I don't show any signs of adhd, which was also shown in test that I sent her.

  • The diagnostician told me, she is sure that im autistic

I am so glad to hear this after so long.

I hope that going forward, and after your next appointment, the validation/feedback lead to improvements in your life.

  • I'm afraid I might have done something wrong now... I emailed her, wrote that u forgot to ask, which diagnostic tools she uses and according to which criteria gives diagnosis. And then I googled it if I should ask that question. It was out of pure curiosity.  Turns out she may understand it as me questioning her skills. I'm anxious and perfect timing- of course I may get the answer the earliest possible on Monday. So I'm gonna be stuck whole weekend in this anxiety about being misunderstood.

  • I think that is a reasonable question and that she won't be concerned by it.

  • Thank you, despite my anxiety this weekend,  it was good I asked her that question and received the answer- she is using ACIA semistructured interview for adults and ICD-11 criteria. So I'm not gonna receive any "Asperger" diagnosis, but probably autism and level. But it's all in process. She wrote me, that ADOS is for children, but not suitable for adults because adults can mask.
