New clothes that fit!!!

Yay, after realising the morning that I only have 2 pairs of winter trousers, both of which are starting to get tatty and the horror of finding M&S no longer do them, I ventured into Bangor. TK Maxx nothing in my size that was in anyway wearable, it was all size 8 or size 22. That was OK as I rarely find anything in there, so off to Matalan, nothing there either, everything either to short or fabric that made my teeth itch just looking at it, I started to despair and went to Next in desperation, fully expecting they'd have nothing either, as previously none of their stuff has fit properly, always to a bit to small somewhere. But, I found a pair of trousers that actually fit me and I'm a size smaller than I was last year, so I paid the extortionate price of £35 for them, they will do for best, otherwise known as going to tesco or the doctor, they're baggy. Everything's baggy this year, I don't really want baggy, it brings back memories of the 70's and walking around in baggy trousers in the rain having to hold my waitband up as the trousers absorbed all the water and made them so heavy. I'm guessing whoever designed them has never had the pleasure of trousers being wet up to the knees and sodden fabric flapping around thier legs.

I bought a jumper in New Look yesterday too!

  • I love loose fitting trousers, I can't bear tight clothes. Do you remember the wide leg trousers that Patience wore in the TV series? Mine are a lot like that, but not quite as short, and have pockets which is great too.

I'm glad to hear you found clothes to fit you though.

  • You might like the ones from next that I bought, these have pockets too.

  • I don't need any trousers at the moment - I bought my M&S wide leg ones a few years back in black, chocolate brown & navy and they're almost like new still. They are a soft cord material and have elasticated waists, and are the most comfortable trousers I've ever had. I don't have much trouble getting trousers as M&S do short lengths which are ok for me. But I do like wearing skirts too and they are the thing I have trouble with - awful materials, often horrible feeling satiny stuff, and they're either much too short or so long they almost drag the ground.

I have also been buying some new clothes - I got 3 t-shirts, two cardigans and some socks in Primark yesterday and I've ordered another 2 t-shirts and some underwear from M&S which should arrive tomorrow. I do miss being able to go into an M&S store and look at things before buying, but they closed the store in my town some years back and there is now only a food store locally, although you can take returns parcels there.
