Research background

I am Hafiza Mahmood, a PhD candidate in Psychology at St Mary’s University, conducting research to explore whether Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) can support communication, coping and emotional wellbeing among adolescent siblings of autistic children.

Who can take part?
I am looking for adolescents aged 10–19 years who have an autistic sibling and currently live in the same household.

What does taking part involve?
Participation involves completing brief questionnaires and attending eight weekly ACT-based small-group sessions of approximately 45–60 minutes each, delivered online.
