I'm really curious about...

Why things like white noise others find soothing and I find really irritating and frequently painful?

Like vibrating things, I can't use an electric toothbrush because the vibrations tickle and itch, anything stronger than this like a massager and I find them painful too?

I see lots of threads about things like this and they're always things that are recomended to autistic people, but they don't work for me and I wonder why, if theres something wrong with me as these things are so common. Another one is fidget toys, they leave me cold, is it because I'm just autistic and don't have ADHD as well?

I feel like theres a lot of confusion about where one leaves off and the other begins and that not having ADHD as well is a bit of a disapointment to many professonals? Although I think so few of them actually listen properly they may just shove stuff at people that dosen't work for them and then don't have anything else left.

  • Thanks B, the lower half of that chart of overlaps applies to me, but not the upper half.

Thanks Iain, nobody has time for me and my tech issues and they've all gone home today. My son tried "fixing" my "new" computer and I still can't get on with it, I'm still using my old one which is very geriatric. My co=pilot went all weird too and decided to update it's self, now it's pretty much unusuable as the direction buttons no longer work, it thinks theres a programming bug, but it can't do anything about it. It just makes me want to spit!
