Research background
This study explores autistic adults’ experiences of Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT). The research team includes Laila Swidan, Trainee Clinical Psychologist at the University of Liverpool, supervised by Dr Beth Greenhill and Dr Emma Chorlton, with expert consultation from Nell Nixon, Doctoral Researcher.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for autistic adults (18+) with a formal autism diagnosis who have completed at least 13 sessions of CAT with an accredited practitioner in the past three years, and who feel able to take part in an interview about their experiences of therapy.
What does taking part involve?
Taking part involves a flexible, accessible one‑to‑one interview (online, in person, or via telephone) lasting around 60 minutes. Before the interview, participants complete a brief screening call and a research passport to share any preferences or access needs.
Reimbursement details
Participants will receive a £20 voucher as a thank‑you for their time and can opt in to receive the study findings once they are finalised.
