Changes that seem unnecessary

There are some things that are not helpful that I don't understand why they have to keep changing. For example, if you have a savings account at the bank to get the best interest you have to regularly start new accounts and close old ones. The best interest is via online banking. I don't understand why they can't just increase the interest on the same account, which I think was the case years ago. Not only does this take time but can be challenging for those who find technology difficult.

Another thing is the internet provider charging less if you upgrade your system. There is then the challenge of getting the switch on a new modem to take on all devices.

  • Luckily I don't have any mney to invest so things like interest rates don't really effect me.

    Once the current contract we have with EE is over, next june, I'm going to have a simple social tarrif, I don't stream things, I don't have multiple devices.

    I've still not used my new computer because it wants me to sync up all my devices and dosen't believe that I don't have any except my kindle and its not get its mucky diodes on that!

    I don't do remote banking, my tech skills are to poor for me to know how to keep myself safe, although with some banks, like a certain Spanish one, I think they deliberately make it difficult for you to access your own money

    I refused to do internet banking until the pandemic. I still do as little as possible. I miss the days when I could find things on filed paper and numbers in a phone book or information in a book, although there is a lot I have learnt by looking things up on the internet that I might never have known and I wouldn't have the contact on here. 

    I also miss paper train and bus timetables. I often can't get internet connections when out, so much easier to look up a timetable.
