Hashimoto Syndrome - anyone in the community able and willing to share their experience to help me and maybe others navigate this?

Hi all

I am recently diagnosed with an auto-immune condition where my immune system is attacking my thyroid gland - Hashimoto syndrome.

As the title says, have any of you good people experience of this and are able and willing to discuss it please?

Thanks

  • I do have an autoimmune condition but not that one.

I hope with levothyroxine you feel better.

I wonder whether you will need immunosuppressants.

I currently don't need them, but I do use pain killers.

  • Thank you

I have done some research based upon your thoughts and believe the pathology for Hashimoto's is not one that immunosuppressants is needed for - although of course would advise others and will likewise myself take medical advice further as necessary on that.

Autoimmune conditions generally seem such strange ones to me - I am pleased that you don't require immunosupressants yourself and hope that the pain killers are doing their job for you.
