Hashimoto Syndrome - anyone in the community able and willing to share their experience to help me and maybe others navigate this?

Hi all

I am recently diagnosed with an auto-immune condition where my immune system is attacking my thyroid gland - Hashimoto syndrome.

As the title says, have any of you good people experience of this and are able and willing to discuss it please?

Thanks

  • I’m sorry that you have that Phased. I haven’t experience of it. I know plenty of people with an under active thyroid but not with your condition.

I hope it is something that in time, becomes easier to deal with, and that you learn to live with it. That is my experience of living with a life long condition that appeared suddenly and was diagnosed nearly twenty years ago. Eventually I got into the routine of having regular blood tests, regular physiotherapy, and hospital admissions for a few days, year on year. It’s not easy, but I have learned to focus on the other things going on in my life, but it took time to do that.
