For me it's tending my plants. It takes my mind off everything.
What works for you?

My flat with my innerself listening to music or watching a film.
Ditto, myself.
I didn't know how to cope with normal life. Perhaps we were Guinea Pigs, for today's kids.
For nearly 70 years, my happy place has been bed. Growing up in smallish houses with 3 generations of family, plus the pressures of school, bedtime could not come soon enough. I never had to be prompted. So, the dark, quiet, warm, heavy bedding environment, was my happy place. I still look forward to and enjoy going to bed.

Great post
I think I have various things tending plants being one of them. I love it when they get new leaves especially my Monstera
I love draw if I can settle my mind enough to concentrate, there’s definitely something about creating that fills my soul when I look at finished product.
I also have a physical place I like to walk through open fields and wooded areas.
Walking in the countryside with one quiet companion or tucked up in my bed with my teddy bear and a favourite programme on tv
Also, a therapist found a surprising place in my past which sometimes I can access in my head
It is Nuneaton Trent Valley railway station. Its late summer in early 1970s, a hot afternoon, no passengers waiting and fewer staff. Im sat on an old porters truck watching tbe heat haze, noticing the mingled aromas of grease and diesel and grass and rose bay, then spot far in the distance a loco heading south. It will not stop, speed is 100mph as screams through, the wash scattering all dust and pollen and insects to a trailing cloud. The calm-still returns, my head stills, calms. And I return to the present

Doing the dishes or sorting the garage and shed. I find turning dirt and chaos into neat and order very mindful, distracting, and it contributes meaningfully to our life together, which helps my self esteem
I really appreciate these seemingly simple, bite sized, questions. They are helping me connect to who I am, what I do, have done and how it all relates to my recent diagnosis.
My Happy Place
Making something small and intricate, usually from scratch, whilst listening to music or an radio/audiobook. I have had this behaviour since I was very small. Over several decades, this has included slow stitching (a recent & real favourite), temari, bobbin lace, yubinuki, crochet, dorset buttons, knitting, origami, watercolour painting, etc. I seem to think with my hands - if that makes any sense?
This has been my major, consistantly reliable, happy place.
I don’t think I have just one happy place. But one of my all time favourite places to go is Hampton Court Palace.
Oh gosh yes. Woods. They make me feel so alive in all the right ways. With none of the stress that usually comes from being out and about. During lockdown I lived near a large park that was also woodland if you kept going. That was my happy place too.
A walk in the woods for me too!
Dead heading roses is something I find relaxing, it only takes a few minutes and 15 minutes spent dead heading and making everything look tidy again, always feels good.
The other thing is a good book, one I can lose myself in and be in another world for a while.
