School Anxiety/Refusal

Hi, I'm new to this community.

I have a 7yo daughter who has autism she is nonverbal but she is now starting to talk which is amazing! In 2024 I was told by her mainstream school they would not be able to accommodate her needs moving forward and after months I managed to get her into this amazing specialist school, it is over an hour in a taxi from where we live but ever since the first day she has LOVED it, she looked forward to the taxi and loved being at school, a few months after starting she was getting a bit anxious about the taxi but that settled when she started taking her iPad for the journey fast forward to now and she is refusing to go to school, when she does go as soon as the taxi approaches the school she starts experiencing a lot of anxiety and is now hesitant to get out.

I have been in contact with the school everyday trying to get the bottom of it but we are all at a loss. No routines have changed and as far as they know nothing has happened to cause this... she was unwell before this started which caused a bit of distress and she had become dysregulated and was lashing out which resulted in a trip to a&e but this has happened before on one other occasion and she still went to school happily after the first time, the only days she has gone over the last 3 weeks are the days she has her favourite activity (swimming) and even then she is hesitant and anxious when she arrives at school.

I don't know what todo, school was her favourite place and she would even ask to go during holidays.

I thought maybe it was linked to dental pain as we are awaiting treatment, however when she stays home she's her normal, happy, cheeky self.

Can anybody help or has anyone else experienced anything similar?

I'm at a loss and I just want my baby to be okay...

Thanks in advance.
