Good to hear!
The printer seems really good - worked fine. It’s also a photocopier apparently.
A panic buy! It would be hilarious if it wasn’t reality, but I’m glad you got sorted.
These things have a habit of happening at weekends and bank holidays, or perhaps people just remember the bad bits.
I don’t buy much in Argos, but I agree it’s handy and often the prices are ok.
Well if it does the job for now that's enough, if when the ink runs out and it's more expensive that to get new ink than a new machine, you can think about then. I just hate the idea of having a perfectly good printer, or anything else for that matter, that has such expensive peripherals that it's as cheap to throw it away.
Yikes - I didn’t actually think about, I just bought a cheap one - we needed it quick. By the end of yesterday I was desperate quite frankly! It’s was comically bad - my husband managed to get ink spilled downstairs, upstairs, ruined a rug, ruined his trousers - it was as if he’d been wrestling with a Squid! Nightmare! Divorce pending! It’s arrived and seems to work ok - and for now I’m just relieved about that! Hardly ever need a printer - we absolutely HAD to get this done this weekend. Argos might not be my favourite shop but their delivery service is absolutely great (in my experience anyway). Printer had 20% off too. Result (at least for now anyway!).
I find its often not the cost of the printer, but the cost of replacement ink thats the problem
That is the key thing. Printers nowadays can be cheap but the ink isn’t.
I find its often not the cost of the printer, but the cost of replacement ink thats the problem, some will take generic and therefore cheaper ink cartridges others know and reject them.
I had a kitten that killed my printer, first he pounced on the paper as it was coming out and jammed it up, I sorted that out and then he walloped the ink cartridge as is was shuttling across, it didn't recover from that.
Hopefully
Basically I bought a cheap printer and a cheap rug - and I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that they’re not both a load of rubbish! Generally I like to generally do my research and buy good quality things when I can - but yesterday I lost my patience with it all and just took the risk! My husband also got a lot of printer ink on his trousers - and decided to chuck those away too - it was a complete farce to be honest with you! And not conducive to marital harmony!
it'll all be worth it though!
Yep, rug being delivered along with the printer. It was an expensive day yesterday
Hopefully it'll do the job
spilled black printer ink over my sons rug in his bedroom and we had to throw that away too!
Sounds like a shopping spree for a rug could be in store?
I bought a cheap one from Argos and they’re delivering it today - fingers crossed it’s not completely rubbish! We hardly ever use a printer - but when we need it we need it - and this was for some important forms that I absolutely have to post on Tuesday morning, The whole thing has been very stressful, and when my husband was packing up the broken one he spilled black printer ink over my sons rug in his bedroom and we had to throw that away too! What a mess!
I didn’t know that - really interesting - thank you!
They have open access hours at the libraries round here, where you can get in with a code when there's no staff there. It's super handy!
I would have suggested Library but I know my nearest is closed on Sundays but of course every library probs different times!
