If You Know Someone Taking Antidepressant

Sertraline 100mg

today (28 April 2026), the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)

has highlighted a precautionary recall of

Amarox Limited

Batch V2500425

(...as there has been a manufacturing error where that one batch contains

"one blister strip of Citalopram 40mg film-coated tablets inside the sealed carton").

The notice includes guidance comments for patients by Dr Alison Cave, MHRA Chief Safety Officer:

Why I thought this recall notice might be of interest to some forum members:

(Data - awaiting peer review - suggests: "Based on 2023 data from the UK, approximately 23.9% of autistic adults without an intellectual disability and 22.9% of autistic adults with an intellectual disability are prescribed Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs), which include sertraline." -

"Antidepressant prescribing trends for
adults with and without autism in the
United Kingdom from 1997 to 2023, a
population-based cohort study using
Clinical Practice Research Datalink
Aurum").
