Where to get advice on medication

In the distant past I have been miss diagnosed snd incorrectly medicated. I now find my self in need of medication to help me manage myself and child. Neither of us are in danger but I find myself stuck and in shutdown far to often and I'm unable to be an efficient carer. 

I find the GP too rushed you're given a medication and go back to try another months later snd nothing gets better.  

Im hoping to find someone that I can ask questions explain my complex situation snd get good advice to ask my GP to prescribe.

Is there such a thing? I am undiagnosed but triaged and on an infinite waiting list. There seems no help in South Wales.

  • I get very flustered in person, but I had an idea, could you write it all down and at the start of the appointment just ask them to read it, or read it out yourself? I would try write it out first as it comes, then from that make something like a bullet point list that's quicker to read but has all the points. I would also start it off by saying what you want from them (I need ...), and then explain why, so they know what they are listening for.

    I've also heard someone on here saying they explained to reception about being ND, and got a longer appointment, I think you might be able to get that even if you are on the waiting list, it's worth asking anyway?
