Whilst I was out with Fearn earlier a chap with a poodle off the lead came towards us, I put Fearn on the lead and held her firmly, talking softely to her and reassuring her that everything was OK, then as soon as we were past, I'm suddenly falling to the ground, this other dog had come up behind Fearn and she'd jumped knocking me off my feet. I have a badly bruised shoulder, elbow, rib, hip and knee and a whiplash type of feeling in my neck. The bloke came over and asked if I was alright, i asked if it looked like I effing well alright and why didn't he have a lead with him. He got all upset and said it was all Fearns fault. I was almost in tears, I'm so sick of irresponsible dog owners, not only are you supposed to walk your dog on a lead in the park, but he didn't have one at all!

I don't think I'm going to be able to wear a bra for the next couple of days let alone do any of the gardening and stuff I want to do. I'm going to have to see the osteopath next week now, to put me back together thanks to this numpty. 

I feel very rough nowon top all that stuff yesterday.

  • Thanks for the support, I feel a lot better today, much of the brusing seems to have gone down, just my ribs and shoulder still hurting.

  • I have had this, owners have a legal requirement to control them and keep them on a short lead. I hate it when people knock me over then try to pick me up and ask me if I am ok. 

  • That's crap, especially as we have a nice weekend to do outside jobs. 

    I'm not a dog owner, but my son is scared of dogs. Most owners are responsible and have a lead, it's the ones that don't that are the problem -'oh my dogs friendly' -yes and my child is terrified now get it away from us. This is what actually caused his phobia, a large overly friendly dog when he was 2 years old, rearing up on him as the owner didn't have control and expected all children to like dogs. 

    I do know the dog rules even still, that if an owner puts their dog on a lead, you should keep your dog away as it might not like other dogs. Letting yours do whatever is irresponsible and could lead to a fight and an injury like it did for you. The park isn't his garden, he should respect other park users.

    I do hope you feel better soon for what it's worth.

    it was the owners fault, as dogs listen to them and it's only natural for them to want to say hi to new people / dogs

    I hope it taught him the importance of having a lead and to not let his dog bound over to people without knowing if they are okay with it
