CPTSD autism hypomania

Feel stressed.

Anyone have hypomania type episodes or could chat to me about the mixture of autism CPTSD hypomania who can understand it or explain it and why it’s out of normal. Long term dissociation depersonalisation and derealisation and living on a tape rewind. ingrained and entrenched copying of other like it’s yourself.

any help in unscrambling?

thanks.

  • I'm recently diagnosed autistic with bipolar.

my psychiatrist on diagnosis clarified things like this.

"you are autistic and have always been autistic. You are bipolar because you have had a manic episode and recurrent depression. The other presentations are symptomatic of these two things and how they interact."

i'm still unravelling what this means but both dissociation and hypomamia have been significant symptoms throughout my life and I think they might be linked to one another. When I cant manage I either completely shutdown or I hyperfocus on one thing to the point that I seem superhuman. In both situations I lose track of what it is i originally couldn't manage as they spiral.

In terms of managing these symptoms. the biggest thing that helps with hypomamic episodes is sleep. the biggest thing that helps with dissociation is grounding. The one thing that helps with both is routine. All easier said than done and I often need help to achieve these things.
