Wish me luck for thursday

Please, I have to go to the dentist and I don't like dentists, they only people scarier than dentists are hygenists.

I think I may have a abcess in one of my uper teeth or the gap where one was, I have quite bad nerve damage to my teeth and have previously had some nerves removed. This means that I often don't know that anythings wrong until its really bad.

At least this lot are used to dealing with people with multiple allergies, ND and the terrified. I think they should be scared with the prices these private places charge, but there's not other option, there are no NHS dentists taking patients on, so its £125-250 per filling, I dread to think what it would cost if I needed anything more complicated.

The appointments for 10am, thats the middle of the night!

  • Oh - I can relate to how you feel as you perhaps remember. At least you are able to get a dentist - and if you’ve got a problem that needs dealing with then the sooner you go the more you’ll be able to minimise the potential pain and discomfort it might cause. By the time mine was hurting really bad I was extremely relieved to get to the dentist - and heaven alone knows what could have happened if I hadn’t been able to see a dentist. So even though it doesn’t feel like it we’re actually very fortunate to be able to go to the dentist. I find that some breathing and grounding techniques do actually help a bit - so they’re worth doing in my experience. Last time I went I decided to have a chat with the receptionist while I was waiting (it was just the two of us in the room which made that bit easier) and I found that focusing on trying to do social chit chat was demanding enough that it helped take the edge off the anxiety of sitting there waiting to go in. I hope it goes ok - good luck!
