It was Cold - It was Night

I'm dosed, with a cold, and don't feel like calling it a night.

Trying to avoid the Traditional Rabbit Holes, YouTube and Facebook, but getting anxious; as a result.

Yesterday evening was the first proper cold night, of the season. And there's a dose going around the area. Not helped by kids commencing half-term today. Shops in the town will be Pandemonium.

Made chicken soup, this afternoon, and had a few oranges. Plus, I have fizzies from Holland and Barrett. It's not all bad news.

Here's to Cabin Fever.

(The Title of this thread was from a song by The Rtus - famous for 'Babylon's Burning' and 'Staring at the Rude Boys')

  • Strange isn't it, not only does being online send me to sleep late at night, but youtube irritates the hell out of me and I never watch it if it can be avoided, there's just somethng about it that makes me want to throw the computer and the person who's video I'm watching out of the window. I think part of it's the ads and annoying background music to so much of it.

  • Ha ha

Yeah I find TV can send me to sleep, but YouTube I find super stimulating.

  • Unless it's an actual physical rabbit hole I fall down, I somehow manage to avoid them, maybe it's because I don't do youtube and stuff. I actually find being online or anything on the computer sends me to sleep.

    Hope you feel better soon

  • It was very chilly yesterday. I changed my heating from 19 to 20 degrees. Soup and nice bread is always a go to when I'm ill. I hope you get better soon.

  • Hi

It was a cold night last night, but no frost this morning.

I feel your pain with the rabbit holes, although I only have the messenger part of Facebook which is necessary for an autism group that I'm part of. YouTube on the other hand, well after disabling the app, I am in a withdrawal period, but boy does it keep trying to draw me back in. I didn't know about doom scrolling until I explained to a colleague at work how I was losing 1-2 hours in the evening doing this addictive thing, that I had no idea was a thing. I only know it made me very depressed afterwards.

I have Spotify which I love for podcasts and audiobooks. This is my go to now. It's definitely a life saver for me.

I want to make chicken soup, maybe I will?

    Hope your cold improves.(•‿•)
