A Study on Mental Health Support for Autistic and/or ADHD Adults

Note: This account only posts external research that has been approved by the NAS research team.

Are you Autistic, have ADHD, or both (AuDHD)? Have you experienced anxiety, depression, or distress and spoken to your GP about it? We want to hear your story.

We are a team of researchers from UK universities, led by Dr Hannah Bowers at the University of Southampton. I’m Sian Holt, a neurodivergent researcher also based at Southampton, and I’m helping to run this study. Our advisory group includes Autistic/ADHD/AuDHD adults who help shape the research.

We’re looking for UK-based Autistic/ADHD/AuDHD adults (18+) who have experienced mental health difficulties (either now or in the past). You don’t need a formal diagnosis to take part.

You’ll be invited to a 60–90 minute interview (with breaks), which can be done via Teams, phone, email, or in person (if near Southampton).
As a thank you, you’ll receive a £30 voucher for your time and expertise.

If you’re interested or have questions, please email me at MINDS@soton.ac.uk – Sian Holt
