UK what a messed up system!

Hi all

Sorry for another moan, but my support worker is away, 'again.  I have contacted the Drs, CMHT, Friends, even the Police.

Last week I was victim of a hate crime, basically accused of being gay all because i am 40 and choose to be single, this was in a cafe locally.  It wasnt a one off joke nope 45 mins. Ive not returned, I have reported to the local Police.

I had a mental health meeting last night and I told them, they encouraged me to report it. I have. I also disclosed other stuff too.. (more on that another time)

I got home and wasnt with it, hearing loud voices and commands, its never been this bad, anyway i looked down and I had self harmed big time (both feet). I wasnt aware I was doing it.

I spoke to GP, CMHT and even Shout and what a messed up system we have, when a neurodiverse man with severe mental health is asking for help, there is none, so as i write this I am scared, frightened and i dont feel safe with myself or anyone else at the moment yet the stupid system would prefer i went out and hurt myself or someone before, thats before getting any support.

Theres not much hope.

So what now ??

  • I'm sorry that you are experiencing a difficulty with the system. I understand what you mean about them waiting for worst case scenario before you get the proper support.

I have seen by a previous post of yours that this comes and goes for you and that you have before been in a better place. I know it's really hard at the moment but try to remember that this too will pass. This is the thought that I hold on to when things feel really bad.

I understand the system hasn't helped you but have you tried ringing mental health helplines? They are there to listen to you. You can get your feelings and worries off your chest. They won't judge. You can explain your difficulties with accessing help and they may have advice as they deal with this kind of thing all the time. There are a lot of different helplines and some allow text services if you don't feel like talking.
