Hi I’m new to this forum and I’m wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a private psychiatrist who specialises in autistic women. My daughter is now 25 and was diagnosed with autism aged 2. She is under the NHS mental health team where we live in the north west of England and has been taking sertraline for the past few years. We haven’t seen the psychiatrist for a couple of years (they are having trouble filling the post) and when we have it’s always a locum who doesn’t have specialised knowledge of autism let alone autism in women. I wonder if the medication is right for her or there could be a better fit. She struggles with hormones and I don’t think that’s ever taken into consideration. . When I’ve searched for private psychiatry the emphasis seems to be on diagnosing.. Does anybody have any experience or recommendations in this area?
