Two days of chaos

Good afternoon,

Last two days has been absolutely chaos due to having a new bathroom. Unfortunately the design had to be tweaked which meant the radiator had to be moved. Basically having a walk in shower (with hand grips and seat for a family member); toilet and a wash basin. It's been noise, drilling and dust. Lucky got a downstairs toilet.

Last night we went out for my belated birthday dinner (last year I was unwell); had fish and chips. Pudding defeated by struggling with my pavlova with clotted cream and strawberries.

I managed to escape for a walk and clear my head.

One mistake was one of builders used the microwave without asking first and WC.

  • Hopefully the new bathroom will better suit everyone.  Sorry it was such an upheaval though.

My friend had something similar done last year and they also found the works seemed like noisy chaos.  It is something I considered having done to our bathroom (but I have been putting it off as I haven't yet tracked down a recommended plumber).

Glad you managed to catch up with your belated birthday dinner.

Getting away for a walk was a good idea - did you spot anything interesting on your route?

I also wouldn't have expected one of the builders to have used the microwave without asking first - hmm!

  • Unfortunately the bathroom door won't close properly and will mention it to the company leader later.

Id went in the charity shops to see what bargains they've got.

  • the bathroom door won't close properly

can you describe where it is having the issue?

    For example,

Does the bottom of the door rub against something? If so is it just at one side?

Does the door hit the door frame, stopping it closing fully? Where about does it hit?

Does it close at one corner but not another? Which corner?

Does the lock mechanism hit the frame of the door and has to be retracted before it closes?

These are the most obvious issues I can think of and all are quite straightforward to fix, some of which need the builder though.
