Note: This account only posts external research that has been approved by the NAS research team.

Exploring the lived experiences and presentations of depression in neurodivergent young adults

Hello, my name is Emma, and I am a PhD Candidate at Queen Mary University of London. We are conducting a research study to explore how depression presents and is experienced in autistic and neurodivergent young adults from diverse racial/ethnic backgrounds, and how mental health assessments can be improved to reflect their experiences.

If you are a parent/caregiver of an autistic/neurodivergent young adult aged 18-25, or a mental health professional working with this group, we invite you to take part in one individual interview and two focus group sessions.

Please follow the relevant link below for more information and to register your interest:

Your insights will help improve how depression is identified and understood in autistic and neurodivergent young adults, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at e.hayashibara@qmul.ac.uk.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
