It's hot

Way to hot, already my skin is burning, I'm having to force fluids, my stomach feels bloated and burning, I've got massive brain fog, I doubt if I'll be able to eat and I can't sleep.

Apparently we're all suposed to be happy and enjoy all this! I don't think I've even got the energy to punch someone in the face if they tell me cheer up because it may never happen.

  • It's starting to cool down a bit, but it's still a bit warm. I never do well in the heat; I sweat very easily,

  • I've been enjoying it so far. I don't like being out in direct sunlight especially midday to mid-afternoon but I've been enjoying sitting outside in the shade of the trees. I like to sit and do writing. I'm outside now, got my hat on and my sunglasses.

  • Thank you !! Hugging I own a lot of plushies and soft bears. I'm also a big Scooby fan, I have most of the dvds, and I have started to collect the Scooby Doo Lego.

  • When it’s that hot and your body’s basically in survival mode, everything just feels harder starting with thinking, eating, even existing. The “cheer up” crowd seriously need to read the room sometimes.

Do you have a fan or anything to cool the room a bit?

  • I liked it getting a bit warmer, but today the direct sun was too hot, so I tried to keep to under the trees, although then there is the pollen to contend with. It's no wonder a few seedlings got shrivelled.

  • It is so hot right now !! hot face Sunny

But my fan has come, so at least tonight I can sleep a little cooler I hope.

Hope everyone else is enjoying/surviving the warm weather today.

  • So glad you managed to sleep last night as there is nothing worse. It is forecast to drop to 14c over the weekend here. I think we all suffer with the heat and it was on radio Four this morning about the lack of government action to prepare for more extreme weather.

  • Six thousand steps. You must have been tired ! I average about two thousand steps a day, unless I go in to town and then it's more like four to five thousand steps achieved. I used to use my phone to track my steps but I don't know as I spend more time at home than out.

  • I took my dog out early today and we went to a quiet place at the seaside for him to swim. He enjoyed drinking from the clean, fresh water stream that flows into the sea at the spot. The beauty of N. Ireland is that quiet places like these aren’t too far away for most people, even on a warm sunny day.

  • I'm glad you are enjoying the sunny warm weather Slight smile it's getting up to about 25 degrees here today, bit warm for me so I am hiding in my room and waiting for my fan to arrive.

  • Two chickens have gone walkabout and haven't been seen since a caught them yesterday, the one who's left seems to be quite happy on her own, I'll give it a couple of day for the others to come back and then decide whether to keep the remaing one and get her a friend or get rid of her too.

I've always found heat difficult, but it's definately getting worse as I get older I used to be able to cope with it around 23-25.C, but now I'm finding even that lays me flat out. I think it's the fybromyalgia and the inability to control my temperature, I've been to loads of differnt doctors about it and had armfuls of blood taken and all the tests come back normal, I've tried a medical herbalist and she couldn't create anything for me either. I'm getting to the end of my tether with it, I might have to go to Lerwick or somewhere it's usually about 10 degrees cooler there than here.

At least I managed to sleep better last night.

  • I was out, today, in Belfast; running errands, walking roughly six-thousand steps.

Have an orange glow, on my face. Might be more Ommpa-Loompa than President Trump, but I was relieved to get a bottle of fizzy water at the M&S at Grand Central Station. Plus, I got Vitamin C, and Zinc, fizzies at the Holland and Barrett in Castle Court. The Mall Radio played 'A Forest' by The Cure. (Predates Robert Smith becoming Goth)

  • I suffer with Raynards so as you can imagine, I love the heat!  As you write, so nice to be able to be outside without being wrapped up. Hope you enjoy the warm spell.

  • If you want to have fun with chickens then place a few duck eggs under them when they are siting. Ducks are poor siters compared to hens. The fun starts when the ducklings first take to the pond. The poor mother hen was clucking away at them but of course, they were having fun.

That was one hen though, who was never bothered  by the cockerel again as the ducks used to chase him if he even went near their mum!

  • Well, I'm going to be the odd one out and say I'm enjoying it. It's only getting up to 21C where I live on the south coast, and that's perfect for me. I only get too hot when it gets above 30C. The sky is a beautiful blue, birds are singing, flowers are blooming, and I don't have to bundle up in layers of clothing.

  • Sorry to hear about your chicken runaround! My aunt and uncle used to keep hens, I seem to recall my aunt saying about my uncle chasing after hens that got out and started running havoc amongst the neighbours gardens.

I hope you sleep well tonight and the weather isn’t too hot. It’s still warm here but gradually cooling down. I have a new fan on order, should be here tomorrow if Hermes/Evri don’t lose the parcel !! It’s meant to be warmer tomorrow night, double digits…

So long as it’s here for tomorrow night !

This weather is too much. Praying for the cooler weather to come back!!

  • Someone who understands, yay!! I'd love to have horizontal rain and to hear the wind whistling round the house. Everything is too hard to do this weather, I've had to chase chickens twice today as they escaped next door, they'll get their necks unwound if they're not careful. I was dubious about getting them in the first place, fearing that I'd be the one having to care for them and everything, it seems I was right and I've had enough, 've got enough stuff to do already without having to chase chickens before breakfast!

I'm feeling a bit better now, although I suspect i'll be worse tomorow as its supposed to be even hotter, I hope the heat disapears with the clear night sky and I can sleep.

  • It is warm and sunny where I am, around 21C or 22C this afternoon. While it was a bit too hot for my dog earlier, it was easy enough for him to find a shady spot. I am enjoying this weather and it is improving my mood.

  • It's definitely a hot final week for April and I'm glad that I'm not a runner anymore. I used to dread the hot days doing that. Gym air con isn't great though and we just started a new programme and were hoping to make a good start. If it's warmer tomorrow (as it's meant to be) then we'll be finding a cooler alternative.

I just dread the nights when I can't sleep due to heat, feeling exhausted and washed out all the time, and the bugs that bite and/or buzz my ears or fly up my nose when I cycling to and from work. Absolutely hate them!
