Other drivers

I've been to Bangor today and nearly got hit by somebody turning out of morrisons carpark and not looking where they're going, his passenger had the audacity to make gestures at me!

Then later on the A55, I slowed down as I had a tractor and trailer in front of me, somebody in the outside lane hooted at me, I wasn't in his way or anything, it was just an act of aggression.

It seems silly season has arrived, why do people not pack their common sense and manners when they comes on holiday? We've got clots of cyclists appearing again clogging up the roads like embolisms and ignoring road signs. We have a 20 mph speed limit in Wales in built up areas, tourists from England seem to think it dosent' apply to them, only us who live here, it was the same with covid restrictions, tourists were being really rude and nasty to people.

It looks like it will be a wet easter, hopefully some of the numpties will stay at home or get last minute flights abroad.

  • I know what you mean, it's scary because so many people are like that driving without care or attention. I often wonder how many actually have a drivers license, because most drive like they haven't passed their test yet. A favourite where I live is people not using their indicators, they just pull out expecting you to know what they're doing, and then giving you a horrible look for pulling out, even though I was using indicators.

    Driving is so stressful lol.

  • I see lots of people put their indicators on as they're turning a corner, why? I thought the point of them was to tell people in advance thier intended direction.

I've niticed the people who think speed limits don't apply after sunset, they come roaring past my house. Although some do it during the day too, last summer numpty tried speeding of a level crossing, didn't see a curve in the road and hit a wall and hedge. That road is near a park and lots of people walk past that spot, it's a miracle nobody was hurt.

I think since covid we've seen an increase in second home ownership and holiday lodges, you can tell who's local and who's not by the cars they drive, new big badge jags and merc's etc will be tourists, older cars locals. But as I said above it's not just the attitudes on the road, it's the attitudes in general from visitors, it's like we only exist to cater for thier holidays and have no rights to do anything other than that.
