Feeling cut off

I often feel cut off from others, including other ASC people, I share so few interests with others and when I do find a common interest people want to engage me with things like youtube and AI, things that make me want to punch the screen, whats wrong with just talking? Why dose everything have to be seasoned with with video's and stuff?

I feel cut off from NT's and ND's.

  • It isn’t nice to feel cut off if you don’t want to be unconnected to others, but you’ve certainly a knack for bringing others together here, even if you feel apart.

There isn’t anything wrong with just talking, but we are in a world where people from Presidents and royalty to autistic forum users engage and pass on information by way of links and videos. If someone is directing a person to a particular website in order to find information on say ‘French Translation Services for Autistic Teenagers’, a link is the fastest and most accurate method to direct a person to the necessary information.

I know you have said in the past that you don’t particularly want to socialise, but I don’t know how else you could engage in the things you wish to talk about unless you meet people face to face, or else put up with and ignore the links, videos and posts that you don’t want to engage with.

Unlike you, I like links, but I don’t particularly like video links, as it takes too long to watch the entire video. I don’t like all this videos the NAS has on the website, and I wish they would include a transcript.

I’m not knowledgeable about British Ancient History, but more than one of us is likely to engage if you start a thread with a hypothesis on something of historical significance.
