Access to medication when doctors will not prescribe without seeing our son who has extreme social phobia

Our son refuses to see anyone, including doctors. Does anyone have any experience in getting meds prescribed without the doctor actually seeing the patient? All  our son can tolerate is communication by email.  Face to face or online is impossible for him.

  • My daughter struggles with the very same thing. She has online OT and counseling each once a week, amd her online school requires her to connect her microphone and camera at times.  She refuses, outside of connecting her microphone for OT because she has developed rapport with her therapist. I would try to have an in home visit or connect with him over video for an appointment.  My daughter experiences shutdowns at in person appointments because she has an aversion to Dr.s and counselors (stemming from a public day school incident) during shutdowns she has slowed or no speech and has memory problems,  whereas if she's in a comfortable environment with people she trusts, she's hyperverbal.
