I'm scared and worried

Quite frankly Donald Trump is terrifying me, he seems intent on wrecking the planet, bullying anyone and everyone, either through deportation or declaring that they must be either male or female, making it easier to sack federal staff, trade tariffs and he's a danger to world health by planing to withdraw from WHO and pausing funding for it.

I worry about whats next or who's next, will he start his military rampaging around the world annexing where he pleases in the name of America First and national security?

What will happen to the trans people, or those who genetically speaking dont' fit into binary genders?

He is really and genuinely scaring me to the point that I'm not sure I want to be around to see the results of his chaos.

  • Also, without undermining anyone's fears, including my own,  or the experiences of those who may or may not be affected - we see what is reported to us and there's usually an agenda behind this. If we take mainstream, it's what are (made to be) the biggest news stories of the day. Our attention is moulded by what is given to us. So if it wasn't reported, would it still be important to us?

  • Exactly right! The quality and spread of newsworthy accounts on TV and in newspapers have become limited over the last decades. Many people have been affected by tragedies caused by corrupt leaders in other foreign countries and this rarely makes the news. British newspapers are too busy feeding us all the dirt they can about politicians on the left or the right, when they could be giving us quality information. But this seems to be what people want.

  • There probably is an agenda behind this, but that dosent' mean we're wrong to be afraid of having an egomaniac with nuclear weapons.

I think it is what a lot of people want, look at the Sun and News Groups massive payouts to Prince Harry and Tom Watson today? All the people that bewailed the death of Princess Diana were quite happy to read all the stories about her. People think they have the "right to know", but know what exactly and why? I think we need to up our privacy laws, obviously we want to know if our elected leaders and people in positions of power and influence are behaving in a criminal manner ot abusing thier positions, we have a right to know that, but how much they spend on furnishings or where they go on holiday, where's the public interest in that?

I think social media plays far to large a role in the spread of disinformation and gossip, how many tutorials on putting on make-up does the world need? It's drivel that rots the brain.
