Understanding the Risk and Protective Factors Associated with Disordered Eating in Autistic and/or ADHD People

Information: This study will investigate risk and protective factors of disordered eating in Autistic/ADHD people. Participation involves completing a survey which will take around 45 minutes to finish. The survey will ask for some demographic information (age, gender, ethnicity, diagnoses) as well as including measures of: monotropism (intense focus and interests), sensory processing abilities (avoiding or seeking sensory experiences), camouflaging (e.g. masking autistic traits) and childhood trauma (e.g. childhood neglect). This will involve selecting boxes on rating scales to show your agreement to a statement or to select an option which best applies to you. All of the included measures have been informed by lived experience voices in our prior photovoice study with Autistic people with eating disorders.

Compensation: Participants who reach the end of the survey can opt in to a prize draw which will be announced when data collection is finished (Est. August 2025). Participants will have the chance to win one of the three prizes available. These prizes are: 1 x £100 voucher and 2 x £50 vouchers.
