Hi,

I've just been prescribed quetiapine XR 50mg which I'm due to start taking next week when my blood test comes back.

I have sleep and anxiety issues, none of the standard treatments had any effect so the next step has been taken.

Do any of you have any experience of this medication and it's positive effects/unpleasant side effects?

    For me personally, I had a fairly horrendous gain in appetite, and I ended up gaining 5 stone in weight over the course of 3 months. It's not a particularly common side effect but since my GP was a barely competent alcoholic, no warnings had been given to watch out for that.

    I'd read that it can increase appetite, I'm very conscious of my weight and clothing being tight so I'll be keeping an eye on that.
