The Big C and scared

Hello. Newbie here. The short of it is, a biopsy has shown cancerous cells. More tests being done.

I’m scared.

It’s overwhelming and heavily triggering.

I’d love to meet other womxn in a similar situation to me. I don’t know what to think or what to do.

  • Hi, I'm so sorry to read of your situation. Cancer is an extremely frightening and overwhelming thing to be diagnosed with. It's a terrible ordeal and how you feel right now is absolutely fine. There's no right or wrong way to feel. But you don't need to go through it alone, there are communities like this one specifically for people experiencing cancer.

I would recommend these two. Though stay here as well and we can help support you when you need. Cancer chat UK and MacMillan. I used both when I was 18 and diagnosed with a brain tumour with metastasis to nodes. Rare for people my age but it does sadly happen. I've since made a full recovery, so please don't think this is it for you, there's so much treatment available for people.

    Give these communities a try.

Both also have helplines which you can call if you need to talk. MacMillan is really good actually as they have a nurses number who you can call to discuss your symptoms and any side effects of treatment, so I definitely recommend this. It might be useful for you especially as they can explain what's happening and what might happen for you in the future.

I hope everything is ok for you and it's an easily treatable cancer. Keep the faith.
